Time For Changes

Today was a day of mixing work and pleasure.  As there was a need for cleaning today I also had a fun project I wanted to accomplish.  I wanted to  change out the display in the middle of the big coffee table in the front room.  It's quite a large table so it always requires a rather large type of display.
I had already decided to use the large crystal pedestal jardiniere.  I could see in my mind
grapes or something that would fall out of the top.  I went looking on Saturday around town at Ross, Goodwill and Marshall's for grapes.  There were no grapes but I did find these great globes of different textures that I liked.

So they came home with me and now
to find the rest of the items I could see in my
mind for the display.  I remembered I had a bag of peat moss from previous projects.  That would
make a good base to build on.

After the globes were put
in I started looking around the house to see
what else would work.

I spotted this and this........

.....and this flower and greenery together
in a vase.  Now that was starting to look like
what I wanted.
It still needed more.
So off to hunt the house for more.

The ivy was found in my sitting room
as part of another arrangement.
So it left the one display and was
added to this one.  Okay looking
good but still not done.  I had these
black stones in a bag in the pantry
so they went round the bottom
for some contrast.

 The stones looked like
they should have an addition.
So off to look for a little something
I remembered I had.

I found him sitting rather lonely looking
in another room.

Now this little bird is helping
to add a little something cute
to this display.

While I was looking for the bird I
found this butterfly!

Okay.......I think that will do it.
It came together pretty well
I believe.

The doily is one from my
large collection of vintage
pieces.  I like having lots of
them to choose from.

It's really quite fun to look around the house
in rooms and cupboards to see
what you can find to make something
come together.  With just
buying the textured globes I was
able to find enough things I already
had to complete the job.

Thanks for visiting with me today.
I hope you enjoyed my fun
project that helped to make
the house cleaning a little more fun!!
